In this episode, host Dave Fiore speaks with Keith Bowers, regional director for the Florida Small Business Development Center at Florida A&M University. A native of Panama City, Fla., Keith was raised in a home that stressed the importance of education and serving others, values he has demonstrated throughout his adult life. As an Army reservist, he served in Joint Detention Operations in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and was commander of Army postal operations in Bosnia. As a civilian, he focused on affordable housing programs and connecting small businesses with tools and resources to be successful – all with the goal of providing opportunities and strengthening underserved communities. Keith is a husband, father and collector of vintage jazz recordings and memorabilia who loves to spend time with family and friends in the kitchen trying new recipes and enjoying time together.
